Man Arrested in Connection with Serial Robberies

On October 15, 2013 at approximately 8:42 PM the Subway restaurant located at 4 Gettysburg Pike in Upper Allen Township reported an armed robbery that had just occurred. Employees on the scene reported that a male, dressed in a black hoodie and a mask entered the restaurant, pointed a handgun at them and fled the store with money from the register and tip jar. The actor fled the store on foot. An immediate police response led to the identification of a vehicle leaving the area behind the restaurant driven by a male matching Borwegen’s description. After further investigation, at approximately 5:40 AM on October 16, 2013 a search warrant was served at Borwegen’s residence and on his vehicle with the assistance of Cumberland County SRT, Lower Allen Police and Mechanicsburg Police. A loaded .45 caliber black handgun was located which matches the description of the handgun used in the robbery in addition to other evidence. Borwegen was arrested at the scene by Upper Allen Police, arraigned before District Judge Mark Martin and committed to the Cumberland County Prison. The investigation is ongoing and additional charges are pending.
