Justin Matthews, 31
Philadelphia, PA 19124
Theft by Unlawful Taking
On November 5, 2013, residents of a Geneva Greens apartment on Geneva Drive in Upper Allen Township had been out for the evening. When they arrived home, they found two armed suspects in the residence. The victims were held at gun point for approximately 30-60 minutes. During that time they were forced to call other family members home, who were then also held at gunpoint until the suspects finished their robbery. The suspects then fled the area. Some of the items they had stolen included a laptop computer, jewelry, and cash.
Upper Allen Township Police investigated the incident and were able to identify Justin Matthews, as one of the suspects and an arrest warrant was obtained. Police believed that Matthews had fled to the Philadelphia area and on 12/12/2013, the US Marshals Task Force took Matthews into custody without incident in Philadelphia. At the time Matthews was in possession of some of the stolen items. Upper Allen Township Police were assisted by the United States Marshals, the Lower Paxton Township Police Department, and the Philadelphia Police Department.
Matthews will be transported back to Cumberland County for arraignment on 12/13/2013 and a preliminary hearing will be scheduled for a later date at Magisterial District Judge Martin’s Office.
