On April 28, 2012 a white female, 30-40 years old, knocked on the door of the victim’s residence in the 700 block of E. Winding Hill Road, Mechanicsburg and introduced herself as a “new neighbor”. During the conversation a white male entered the same residence and claimed he was the brother of the new neighbor. The male then claimed he saw roof damage and offered to make a repair for $250.00 in cash. The male took $200 in cash that the victim had, and left the residence with the female saying they would return another time to make the repair and collect the rest of the money. Police were notified and able to determine there was no damage to the victim’s roof that required repair. The male was described as being of Italian decent.
