On March 25, 2012, officers from Upper Allen Police were conducting foot patrol through the Belle Terre apartment complex on Geneva Drive, Mechanicsburg. During the foot patrol officers could smell the odor of marijuana coming from an apartment rented by Angel Melendez. The officers searched the apartment and seized a small amount of marijuana and several pieces of drug paraphernalia. Charges were later filed on Melendez. On July 2, 2012, Melendez appeared for his preliminary hearing and plead guilty to the charges.
