On February 20, 2015, Upper Allen Police received a report that Dillon assaulted a female at his residence in violation of a Protection From Abuse Order. Dillon was no longer on the scene so police obtained an arrest warrant for him. Officers took Dillon into custody on February 23, 2014. Dillon was placed in Cumberland County Prison awaiting court proceedings at the Cumberland County Courthouse in Carlisle.

On October 27, 2014, Scott Comrey stole a cell phone from a co-worker while he was at work at a business in the 600 block of Independence Avenue in Upper Allen Township. An investigation was conducted and charges were filed against Comrey. On February 23, Comrey waived his preliminary hearing and the charges were forwarded to the Court of Common Pleas in Cumberland County.

In November 2014, Upper Allen Police received a report from an Upper Allen resident stating that they had received sexually explicit and disturbing material from an unknown individual via text messaging. After an investigation the suspect was identified as Howard Offenger, IV and charges were then filed via summons. A preliminary hearing was held on February 23, 2015 before District Judge Mark Martin. The hearing was waived to the Court of Common Pleas in Cumberland County.

** 02/23/2015, 7:15 AM UPDATE: Through the booking process, it was learned that Hairston provided false identification to law enforcement. Jovar Hairston is the correct defendant. **

At approximately 10:00 PM, Upper Allen Police were alerted to an active home burglary in the 900 block of Peacthree Drive. Responding officers encountered two males fleeing the area. After a foot chase and search by police K-9, Jovar Hairston was apprehended. During the investigation, additional residences were found to have been targeted. Hairston was transported to the Cumberland County Prison for processing and arraignment. Additional suspects have been identified and the investigation is ongoing. On February 21, 2015 at 2:05 AM, Townsend was stopped for a traffic violation on US Route 15 south, Upper Allen Township. The officer found that Townsend was driving under the influence of alcohol and a controlled substance and that he was in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Townsend was arrested at the scene and transported to Cumberland County Prison for processing. A preliminary hearing will be held at a later date.

Single Vehicle Crash Injures One

On February 21st, 2015 at 2:19 AM, Upper Allen Police were dispatched to the 1000 block of S. York Street for a single vehicle crash with injury to the driver. McCurdy’s vehicle left the roadway and struck a utility pole before striking the porch of two separate residences. The impact of the crash caused McCurdy’s vehicle to split into two separate pieces. McCurdy was transported to Penn State Hershey Medical Center for her injuries. The cause of the crash is still under investigation. Upper Allen Police were assisted at the scene by Mechanicsburg Police, the Upper Allen Fire Department, and Holy Spirit EMS.

Upper Allen Resident Arrested for Sexual Assault of a Child

In January 2015 Upper Allen Police received a report that Joel Buser was alleged to have been having sexual contact with a child acquaintance. The sexual contact was to have occurred at Buser’s residence from July 2014 until reported in January 2015. After conducting an investigation into the allegations, Upper Allen Police obtained a warrant for Buser’s arrest. Buser was arrested on February 20, 2015 and transported to Cumberland County Prison. On April 23, 2015, Buser waived the charges to the Court of Common Pleas in Cumberland County.

Ford F450 Truck Reported Stolen from Harrisburg Auto Auction

On February 17, 2015 Upper Allen Police received a report that a truck was stolen from Harrisburg Auto Auction, 1100 S. York Street. The truck was stolen on Thursday, February 12, 2015 between 7:30 PM and 8:00 PM. The truck is a white 2005 Ford F-450 Super Duty Regular Cab Service Truck, 4 wheel drive, 6.0 diesel, vehicle identification number 1FDXF47P95EA36072. On October 10, 2014 at approximately 1:19 AM, Upper Allen Police stopped a vehicle operated by Scott Simon. During the investigation, Simon was found to be under the influence of marijuana and in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Yocum, a passenger in the vehicle, was also found in possession of marijuana. Simon and Yocum were both charged in the incident and a preliminary hearing was scheduled for February 9, 2015. The charges on both Simon and Yocum were waived to the Court of Common Pleas.
