Early Afternoon Crash Snarls Traffic on South Market Street

On August 26, 2014 at 1:36 PM, Upper Allen Police were dispatched to an injury crash on South Market Street at West Winding Hill Road. An investigation determined that Palmer stopped at that intersection and proceeded through the intersection in front of oncoming traffic causing a crash with the vehicle traveling south on South Market Street. Both vehicles sustained damage and one vehicle was towed from the scene. Both drivers sustained minor injuries and were treated at the scene. Upper Allen Police were assisted at the scene by the Upper Allen Fire Department, Upper Allen Fire Police and West Shore EMS.

Motorcycle Crashes into Antique Pickup

On Sunday, August, 2014 at approximately 11:00 AM, Upper Allen Police investigated a motorcycle crash in the 100 block of West Lisburn Road. Police found that Sutton was operating a motorcycle behind an antique pickup truck operated by Miller. Sutton tried to pass Miller as Miller was turning left. The resulting collision caused minor injury to Sutton and his female rider. Upper Allen Police were assisted by the Upper Allen Fire Department and Hampden Township EMS.

Grocery Store Employee Arrested for Theft

On Friday, August 22, 2014 at approximately 2pm, Upper Allen Police were contacted by a local grocery store wishing to report a theft. An investigation determined that grocery store employee Kimberly Hay stole over $300 in cash during her employment. Hay was arrested and transported to Cumberland County Central Booking for processing. Hay will receive a summons to appear for a preliminary hearing before Magisterial District Judge Mark Martin.

Driver Injured in Morning Crash

On Saturday, August 23, 2014 at approximately 11 am, Upper Allen Police investigated the report of a crash at the intersection of Gettysburg Pike and Grantham Road. A police investigation determined that Mark Berger was traveling south on Gettysburg Pike when he failed to stop at the stop sign at Grantham Road. Berger’s vehicle struck Randy Hoffman’s vehicle which was turning from Grantham Road onto Gettysburg Pike. Both vehicles were disabled in the crash and were towed from the scene. Hoffman reported a minor injury but refused Emergency Medical Services.

Upper Allen Woman Arrested for Assault

On June 13, 2014, Upper Allen Police responded to an active fight in the 1200 block of Rocky Road, in Upper Allen Township. After an investigation at the scene, and after interviewing witnesses shortly after the assault, it was determined that Ford assaulted a juvenile female and another woman. Charges on Ford were handled via summons and on August 18, 2014, a preliminary hearing was held in front of Magisterial District Judge Mark Martin. All charges against Ford were bound over for trial as a result of the hearing.

Theft of Bomag Compactor from Construction Site

On August 19, 2014, Upper Allen Police received the reported theft of a Bomag BVP 18/45 Plate Compactor, serial number 861834049137, black and yellow in color. The theft occurred from a construction site on Jonagold Circle in the Winding Hills Development between Friday, August 15 at 7 PM and the morning of Monday, August 18. The compactor pictured above is similar to the item stolen. Anyone with information regarding this theft is encouraged to contact Upper Allen Police at 717-238-9676. Harrisburg Man Arrested for Workplace Assault

On August 12, 2014 Upper Allen Police were called to a business located in the 500 block of Independence Avenue for a domestic dispute between two employees. A female victim, who is associated with Rosario, stated that Rosario grabbed her face while making threats to stab her. Rosario was arrested at the business and was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Mark Martin and committed to the Cumberland County Prison. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Monday, August 18, 2014 before Judge Martin.

On August 9, 2014 Upper Allen Police investigated a report of Terroristic Threats. The female victim stated that Youngblood made verbal threats to kill her and their children, as well as harassing her by text message. Youngblood was arrested without incident at a separate location and transported to Cumberland County Prison. He was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Paul Fegley, and held in prison without bail. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Monday, August 18, 2014 before Magisterial District Judge Mark Martin.

On August 9, 2014 at 8:23 PM, Upper Allen Police were dispatched to an injury crash on South Market Street at US Route 15. An investigation determined that Crossley turned left from South Market Street onto US Route 15 north into the path of Wilt, who was traveling the opposite direction on South Market Street. Both vehicles sustained disabling damage and were towed from the scene. All occupants were transported to Harrisburg Hospital for observation. Upper Allen Police were assisted at the scene by the Upper Allen Fire Department, Upper Allen Fire Police and West Shore EMS.
