Mechanicsburg Man Injured in Crash

On April 23, 2024, at approximately 4:02 p.m., Upper Allen Police responded to a two vehicle crash on US Route 15 South, near the East Winding Hill Road exit. An investigation determined that the operator of a tractor trailer attempted to merge into an adjacent lane and struck the rear of the pictured sedan. This caused the sedan to crash into the center concrete barrier, spin around facing oncoming traffic, and come to a rest in the right travel lane.

The operator of the sedan received minor injuries and was transported by EMS to a local hospital for evaluation. The Upper Allen Police were assisted at the crash by Lower Allen EMS and the PA Turnpike Safety Patrol.

Police Investigate Report of Stolen Firearm from Vehicle

Between April 14 and April 16, 2024, a resident’s vehicle was entered and their firearm stolen. The firearm is described as an all black Sig Sauer P365 9mm with a “Cyelee” red dot optic, similar to the firearm pictured above.

The vehicle that was entered was unlocked. As a reminder, please secure your vehicles and do not leave anything valuable inside, especially during overnight hours.

Police Investigate Theft During Facebook Marketplace Sale

On Monday, April 22, 2024, at 9:26 PM, the Upper Allen Police were dispatched to the 600 block of Cumberland Pointe Circle for the report of a theft. An investigation determined that an unknown suspect was involved in the purchase of a gaming system on Facebook Marketplace and asked the victim to meet at that location. Upon receiving the Xbox, the suspect fled the scene without paying for it.

On Sunday, April 7, 2024, Upper Allen Police responded to a local restaurant after several witnesses reported watching an older man sexually molest a young female child in public. An investigation identified the older man as Roy Andrews. On April 22, 2024, the Upper Allen Township Police Department executed a search warrant at the suspect’s home. During the search warrant, Andrews attempted to flee and resisted arrest. Officers were eventually able to arrest Andrews and he was transported to Cumberland County Central Booking for processing and arraignment. Andrews remains incarcerated in the Cumberland County Prison. Upper Allen Police were assisted by the Hampden Township Police Department.

Roy Andrews knew the victim from his previous involvement as a youth leader for a Hispanic church in Harrisburg called “Iglesia La Fuenta.” Andrews was the youth leader for that church from approximately 2014 through 2022. Upper Allen Man Arrested for Domestic Assault

On Sunday, April 21, 2024 at 10:23 pm, Upper Allen Police responded to a residence in the first block of Round Ridge Road for a physical domestic. An investigation at the scene determined that Cameron threw an object which struck the victim in the head, causing bodily injury. Cameron was arrested at the scene and transported to the Cumberland County Prison for processing and arraignment. A preliminary hearing will be held at a later date.
