In May 2022, the Upper Allen Township Police Department began an investigation into the online sexual exploitation of a child who resides in Upper Allen. Detectives identified the suspect as Joshua Valle, from Schenectedy, NY, and discovered he had victimized several other children across the United States. Due to the extent of Joshua Valle’s criminal conduct, the case was referred for federal prosecution by the Department of Homeland Security Investigations. On Friday, April 21, 2023, The United States Attorney’s Office announced that Joshua Valle plead guilty to the federal offenses of Sexual Exploitation of a Child and Possession of Child Pornography.
