On Thursday, March 20, at approximately 6:00 PM, the Upper Allen Police investigated a crash involving the pictured Mini Cooper and bicycle. The investigation determined that the teenager operating the bicycle was waiting to cross Gettysburg Pike from a business driveway in the 200 block. An unknown vehicle waiting to turn left into the business motioned for the bicyclist to cross the road. The operator of the Mini Cooper was in the right lane traveling south on Gettysburg Pike and could not see the bicyclist because of the vehicle in the left-turn lane.

The bicycle crossed into the path of the Mini Cooper, who was unable to stop in time. The impact caused the bicyclist, who was not wearing a helmet, to be thrown off the bicycle into the grass on the side of the road. The bicycle sustained disabling damage and the bicyclist received minor injuries but refused EMS evaluation.
