The Upper Allen Township Police just finished having all of their officers trained by certified instructors from the National Academy for Professional Driving, also known as NAPD. This is a low speed, high stress driver training. Officers are instructed in techniques that will enable them to be safer and more efficient drivers, even under emergency conditions. This training recently was a one day update training offered by the Shumaker Public Safety Center located at the Senator Jeffrey E. Piccola Law Enforcement Complex in Harrisburg. The Upper Allen Township Police Department strives to participate in the one day recertification course annually and our goal is every third year to have our officer’s be certified in the full three day training course.
