On Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at approximately 7:00 AM the Upper Allen Police responded to the scene of a multi-vehicle crash on US Route 15 North at mile marker 38.5. The investigation revealed that traffic on US Route 15 northbound stopped suddenly due to heavy traffic congestion. Richwine’s vehicle was stopped for this traffic at the above location when Zeigler’s vehicle failed to stop in time, which resulted in a rear-end collision between their vehicles. Wabrick was also unable to stop his vehicle in time, and his vehicle struck the back of Zeigler’s vehicle.

All three vehicles were disabled in the left travel lane and needed to be towed from the scene. This caused a significant traffic backlog on US Route 15 and the surrounding roadways. There was one injury reported to police, although the injured person declined transportation by EMS.
