Virginia Man Arrested for DUI and Drug Possession at Sobriety Checkpoint

On Friday, June 29, 2018 the Cumberland County District Attorney’s Office was conducting a Sobriety Checkpoint in the 1700 block of South Market Street in Upper Allen Township. During this checkpoint, Neitzel was operating his motor vehicle when a police officer working the checkpoint detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from Neitzel’s breath and Neitzel admitted to consuming alcohol prior to driving.

Following an investigation, Neitzel was determined to be operating his vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and was placed under arrest. During a search of Neitzel’s clothing as a result of the arrest, drug paraphernalia containing a small amount of marijuana was found in his possession.

Neitzel was later taken to the Cumberland County Prison for processing, then released. A preliminary hearing will be scheduled at a later date.
