On Friday, September 21, 2018 at approximately 1:45 PM, the Upper Allen Police responded to a crash which occurred at the intersection of South Market Street and Shepherdstown Road. The investigation revealed that Wertz was stopped at the stop sign on Shepherdstown Road, intending to turn left onto South Market Street. Kohler was traveling north on South Market Street, approaching this intersection. Wertz pulled out in front of Kohler when it was not safe to do so, causing a collision between the two vehicles. Kohler denied any injuries from the crash and Wertz received minor injuries but refused EMS evaluation.
