On Sunday, April 12, 2020 at approximately 11:30 AM Upper Allen Police were dispatched to US Route 15 south for a report of a reckless driver. A calling motorist observed a white station wagon repeatedly striking the jersey barrier on US Route 15 south beginning in the area of mile marker 40.4 in Lower Allen Township and continuing south into Upper Allen. An Upper Allen Police Officer was in the area and observed the vehicle, a white Chevrolet HHR, passing over South Market Street. The officer observed the vehicle striking the jersey barrier repeatedly and attempted to stop the vehicle. The vehicle eventually came to rest in traffic just south of the West Lisburn Road interchange. Hancock was the sole occupant of the vehicle and was transported from the scene by EMS.

Following an investigation, Hancock was found to be under the influence of a controlled substance which led to the crash. Hancock was also found to be in possession of a controlled substance and related paraphernalia as well as a suspended driver’s license. Criminal charges were filed against Hancock. A preliminary hearing was held on July 31, 2020 and all charges were bound over to the Cumberland County Court of Common Pleas.
