Emergency Services Drill Scheduled for April 27th

The South Central Task Force is coordinating an emergency drill for local emergency responders to be held at the Mechanicsburg Area School District’s Kindergarten Academy on Wednesday, April 27th from 3:30pm – 8:00pm.

The purpose of this notice is to minimize public alarm when police, fire and EMS units converge in the vicinity of the Kindergarten Academy at the time of the drill.

This is not a public event. Attempts at spectating are strongly discouraged.

Tire Slashing Incident in Cedar Ridge Townhomes

On Thursday, April 21, 2016 at approximately 4:00 PM, Upper Allen Police received a report from an individual residing in the 600 block of Cedar Ridge Land in reference to criminal mischief. The resident discovered that both of their vehicle’s driver side tires had been slashed. The act took place between the times of 8:00 PM on Tuesday, April 19 and 8:00 AM on Wednesday, April 20.

Motorcycle Crash Injures One

On Sunday, April 17, 2016 at approximately 1:38 PM Upper Allen Township Police were dispatched to a single vehicle crash involving a motorcycle at the intersection of West Lisburn Road and Gettysburg Pike. Upon arrival, Shellenberger was identified as the sole rider of the motorcycle. Sellenberger was propelled from the seat of the motorcycle after striking a curb on the right shoulder of the roadway in the 900 block of Gettysburg Pike.

Shellenberger sustained minor injuries from the crash and was transported from the scene by Dillsburg EMS to Holy Spirit Hospital. Upper Allen Police were assisted on scene by the Upper Allen Fire Department and Dillsburg EMS personnel.

Upper Allen Citizen Police Academy Graduates

Upper Allen Township Police concluded it’s 11 week Citizen Police Academy on Tuesday night April 12th. It was a huge success based on the comments of the attendees and will become an annual event. The general overall comments were that the Citizen Police Academy was very informative, they gained insight in local law enforcement, the criminal justice system, and how they could be a positive influence in the community.
