Officers Ensure Safe Evacuation During House Fire

On March 24, 2016 at approximately 10:47 PM, Upper Allen Police received a call to respond to the 1700 block of English Drive for an active house fire. When the first officers arrived on the scene, they found flames coming from the rear of a multi-unit town house complex. The caller was able to escape the unit where the fire originated. Prior to fire department arrival, the officers then attempted to evacuate the neighboring residences. When they did not receive a response at an adjacent home, they forced entry to the residence. Inside they found a parent and two children sleeping and successfully removed them without injury. The cause of the fire was linked to a cigarette container outside the rear of the unit where the fire started.

Two Young Dogs Abandoned Near Pinetree Drive

On Friday, March 25th at around 1:00 PM, a dark green SUV abandoned two young dogs near the intersection of Pinetree Drive and Boxwood Lane in Upper Allen Township. Both of the dogs appear to be about a year old. One is a German Shepherd and the other is a Golden Retriever or a Yellow Lab. These dogs are to be running at large in the area. Mid-Day Crash Injures One

On March 22, 2016 at 11:58 AM the Upper Allen Township Police responded to a crash in the 500 block of Independence Avenue. Investigation into the crash revealed that Hassan Madey, who was operating a brown Subaru Tribeca, lost control of his vehicle and struck a parked Amerigas tanker. As a result of the crash, both vehicles suffered disabling damage and were towed from the scene. Madey was transported by EMS to the hospital for further medical evaluation.

Upper Allen Police Receive Grant to Address Aggressive Driving Violations

Between March 21, 2016 and May 1, 2016 the Upper Allen Police Department will increase enforcement patrols in a concentrated effort to address Aggressive Driving violations. The focus of this six week enforcement wave will be on traffic laws related to Speeding, Keeping Right – Passing Left, Work Zone Safety, and any other Aggressive Driving actions. Enforcement of the Seat Belt Law will also be a focus of this grant-funded initiative.

The Upper Allen Police strive to keep township roadways safe for all those who use them and maintains two officers dedicated solely to Traffic Safety. On March 4th, 2016 at approximately 4:30 PM the two pictured male dog, believed to be Fox Hounds, were found running together in the 1st block of East Lisburn Road.
