Mattress on Highway Causes Injury Crash

On Sunday, November 9th, 2014 at about 6:30 PM, the Upper Allen Police Department responded to a crash involving an overturned vehicle in the northbound travel lanes of US Route 15 near Grantham Road. An investigation at the scene determined that an unidentified pickup truck pulling a trailer, lost a mattress while traveling northbound on US Route 15. Dozier was following behind the trailer and attempted to avoid the mattress. This resulted in his vehicle crashing into the concrete median and overturning. The driver of the pickup truck did not stop to provide information or render aid. Upper Allen Police are actively seeking the identity of the pickup truck operator. Four of the five occupants of the vehicle were injured and transported by West Shore EMS to Hershey Medical Center for treatment; two of the injured passengers were children. All northbound traffic was diverted in Dillsburg as US Route 15 was closed until the crash scene was cleared. Upper Allen Police were assisted at the scene by Carroll Township Police, Upper Allen Fire Department and Dillsburg Fire Department.

Attempted Burglary on Trick or Treat Night

On October 30, 2014 an uninhabited residence in the 300 block of Stonehedge Lane was the site of an attempted burglary. An unknown actor kicked the front door in but did not take anything from the townhome.

Careless Driving and Horseplay Causes a Crash with 2 Injured

On Saturday, November 1, 2014 at approximately 8:00 PM, Steager was seen driving in circles in a corn field in the 900 block of Allendale Road. Steager realized he was being watched and fled the field at high rate of speed. In the 1200 block of Allendale Road Steager was traveling too fast to negotiate a curve in the roadway. He initially struck a telephone pole, drove over that pole and then drove through some bushes and struck a tree, where the truck stopped. Two juvenile passengers sustained injuries and were transported to the hospital. Their condition was not known at the time of this press release. Upper Allen Police were assisted by West Shore EMS, Hampden Township EMS and the Upper Allen Fire Department.

Laptop Stolen During Burglary

On October 25, 2014 a residence was entered in the 100 Block of Melbourne Lane, Upper Allen Township. The burglary occurred between 11:00 AM and 8:45 PM. During the burglary, an HP Pavilion 15-N211dx, black in color, laptop computer was stolen. The laptop serial number is 5CD40328FO. The owner was not at home during the time of the incident.
