On July 12, 2014 at 6:26 PM a vehicle operated by Tellez was traveling southbound on S. Market Street and turned left in front of Trimmer’s van which was traveling northbound on S. Market St.
The intersection was blocked for about 20 minutes until both vehicles could be towed from the scene. Tellez was treated for minor injuries by West Shore EMS.
The Upper Allen Township Fire Department assisted at the scene with fluid clean up and traffic control.

Black Bear Cub Roams Upper Allen Neighborhoods

Upper Allen Police are currently receiving numerous reports of a black bear cub roaming through residential neighborhoods. The last reported sighting was at 2:30 PM on Broadmoor Drive near the Upper Allen Police Station and nearby neighborhoods of Graham Hills Apartments, Gray Place, Dartmouth Court and Wyncote Court.

There have been no reports of the bear being hostile or aggressive at this time. Residents are asked to move trash containers and bird feeders inside, so as not to attract bears. If a bear is seen, do not approach the bear or attempt to confine the bear in any way.

The Upper Allen Police Department is working cooperatively with the PA Game Commission. Residents are asked to call the Upper Allen Police Department at 717-238-9676 regarding any additional sightings or concerns about public safety.

Gasoline Stolen from Residential Garage

On July 1, 2014 a resident of the 1st block of Emlyn Lane reported that sometime between 11:00 AM and 4:00 PM on Monday, June 30, 2014, someone entered their garage and drained the gasoline from a snow blower. The garage was not locked at the time of the theft.

Upper Allen Police to Target Aggressive Drivers

With the Independence Day weekend approaching, the Upper Allen Police Department announces that officers will be conducting additional enforcement patrols focusing on Aggressive Drivers. Officers will be targeting those motorists who are exhibiting aggressive-driving behaviors such as speeding, tailgating, and failing to stop for red traffic signals.

Speeding and other aggressive-driving behaviors are among the leading factors in crashes on Pennsylvania roadways. The additional enforcement patrols will be conducted on roadways in Upper Allen Township where crash data indicate a majority of aggressive-driving related crashes occur. The Upper Allen Police Department was one of 108 police departments across Pennsylvania to receive additional funding through this special enforcement initiative.

Bear Cub Sighted in Multiple Neighborhoods

On Monday, June 30, 2014, Upper Allen Police received several calls stating a black bear cub was roaming through residential neighborhoods. The last reported sighting at 10:00 PM was on W. Winding Hill Road near the intersection of S. York Street. There have been no reports of the bear being hostile or aggressive towards any person at this time.
