Chain Reaction Rush Hour Crash on US Route 15

On January 15, 2013 at 7:30 AM rush hour traffic began to slow on US Route 15 northbound in the area of the PA Turnpike. A vehicle operated by Hall failed to slow down in time and struck the rear of a vehicle that was operated by Rumberger. Other traffic braked suddenly causing a chain reaction crash. A vehicle operated by Kostelac was hit in the rear by Wolf who was hit in the rear by Fetters. The vehicle operated by Fetters was struck in the rear by Mackneer. The crash caused traffic to be backed up for nearly a mile until the involved vehicles could be moved to the shoulder. Three of the vehicles were towed from the scene and three involved persons reported minor injuries, but did not require transportation by EMS.

On January 10, 2013 at 1:26 PM Upper Allen Police were dispatched to the intersection of S. Market Street and Gettysburg Pike, Mechanicsburg for a two vehicle crash blocking the roadway. Galloway was traveling north on S. Market Street and Novak was traveling east on Gettysburg Pike. Galloway entered the intersection on a steady red signal and collided with the left side of Novak’s vehicle. The drivers declined medical treatment and both vehicles were towed from the scene.

Upper Allen Police are investigating the theft of personal property from a dormitory on the campus of Messiah College during November and December 2012. Among the stolen items include an Apple iPod Touch and a Canon digital camera (pictured above). Police Investigate Prowler Incidents

On December 20, 2012, Upper Allen Police were dispatched to the 1800 block of English Drive, Mechanicsburg for the report of a male looking in a window. Police searched the area but did not locate anyone. The male was described as being younger and thin. The male was seen on three different occasions over the course of a weeks time, with this report being the third sighting. Each time, the male was seen loitering around occupied residences and looking in windows in the area of English Drive and Wyncote Court. Several times when the male knew someone was watching him, he began walking up the hill towards Dartmouth Court and the Graham Hill apartment complex. Slippery Road Conditions Contribute to Crash

On December 29, 2012 at 10:41 AM, Upper Allen Police were dispatched to US Route 15 North in the area of the West Lisburn Road interchange for a single vehicle crash. Ventura was operating a 2010 Ford van and merging onto US Route 15 North. Ventura lost control of the van on the snow covered roadway, striking the concrete center median and becoming disabled. Ventura refused medical treatment. Upper Allen Police were assisted on the scene by The Upper Allen Fire Department and Fire Police and West Shore EMS.
