On Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at approximately 9:39 PM the Upper Allen Township Police responded to the Subway Restaurant located at 4 Gettysburg Pike, Mechanicsburg for an active armed robbery. Once on scene employees reported that a male entered the restaurant, displayed a stainless steel knife with a black handle, ordered the employees not to move and took cash from the register. The suspect was described as being white male, taller then six foot with an athletic build, wearing dark blue jeans, a grey zip-up hooded sweatshirt and a blue and grey striped ski mask. The Upper Allen Police were assisted on scene by the Mechanicsburg Borough Police, Lower Allen Township Police and Summit Search and Rescue. On December 11 2012, Upper Allen Police received a report of a hit and run crash involving damage to multiple pieces of property. Properties in the area of S. York Street and Gettysburg Pike were damaged in this incident. A black Kia Forte sedan caused the property damage. The year of this vehicle is between 2009 and 2012. The vehicle depicted above is similar to the involved vehicle. The vehicle sustained heavy front end damage and also a damaged passenger side front tire and rim. It is likely disabled at someone’s residence, body shop, or garage. On December 7, 2012 Upper Allen Police investigated a burglary in the 1700 block of Empress Drive, Mechanicsburg. Between Sunday, December 2nd, and Thursday, December 6th, a gas range and several pieces of furniture were taken from an unoccupied model home. On December 4, 2012 at approximately 8:00 PM a Messiah College employee discovered an apparent bomb threat written on a door in a mens restroom in the Frey Academic Building. The Messiah College Department of Safety evacuated the building and called Upper Allen Police to investigate. A search of the building was conducted by Upper Allen Police and K-9 units from the Cumberland and Dauphin County Sheriff’s Office. Upper Allen Police were also assisted at the scene by Carroll Township Police. On November 25, 2012 at approximately 4:30 PM Upper Allen Police were dispatched to the 900 block of Williams Grove Road. Mechanicsburg for a single vehicle accident. Officer found that Brown had been traveling south on Williams Grove Rd when she crossed over the opposing lane of traffic and struck a utility pole. Brown was evaluated by West Shore EMS and ultimately transported to the hospital for her injuries. Brown’s vehicle was disabled and towed from the scene.
