Manatee Mailbox Stolen Overnight

During the overnight hours of January 15 into January 16, 2012, a resident reported that their mailbox was stolen from the 300 block of East Meadow Drive. The mailbox is in the form of a manatee and is similar to the one pictured. Police also found a strip of LED lighting at the scene which may be ground effect lighting that fell from a car that may have been involved. UPDATE 1-16-2012 Due to a very observant citizen the Manatee was located in the Yellow Breeches Creek in Monroe Township. The Upper Allen Police are still seeking any/all information related to this theft.

Theft from a Construction Site

Sometime during the overnight hours of January 13-14, 2012 the construction site in the 600 block of Gettysburg Pike was burglarized and several construction items were taken to include aluminum drip edge, scaffolding which was marked with the owner’s initials in blue paint, 30 feet of copper pipe, 5 boxes of aluminum coil stock and 5 Lithonia brand recessed lights that were still in the boxes . Three Injured When Car Hits Tree

On Wednesday January 4, 2012 at 8:40 PM Upper Allen Police were dispatched to a crash in the 1700 block of South Market Street involving a single vehicle in to a tree. The driver, Scott Wagner, reported a mechanical problem with the vehicle which caused him to crash head on in to a tree. Wagner had moderate injuries and was transported by EMS to Hershey Medical Center. Wagner’s two juvenile passengers had very minor injuries and were attended on the scene and released to a family member.

Upper Allen Police were assisted on the scene by the Upper Allen Fire Department, West Shore EMS, and the Upper Allen Fire Police.

Police Respond to Report of Attempted Burglary

On December 30, 2011 at approximately 8:00 PM Upper Allen Police responded to a residence in the 2400 block of Bumble Bee Hollow Road for a report of an attempted burglary. A resident inside the home heard someone attempting to enter the residence at a secured door. The attempt was unsuccessful and police checked the area shortly after the report, but no one was located. On December 27, 2011 @ 7:22 AM Upper Allen Police received several reports of vehicles that were broken into during the overnight hours. Unknown individuals stole items from vehicles in the area of the 500 Block of Geneva Drive and the 600 Block of Wayne Drive, Mechanicsburg. If anyone witnessed suspicious vehicles or persons in the area during these times, they are asked to contact Upper Allen Police at 717-795-2445 or our anonymous tip line 717-591-3790.

Police would like to remind residents to lock their vehicles as a matter of routine and do not let valuable items inside. This crime can be a common occurrence and is largely preventable with a few precautions.
