On Wednesday March 30, 2011 at 8:45AM Upper Allen Police responded to Route 15 North on ramp from Route 114 for the report of a three vehicle accident. The on-scene investigation revealed that traffic had stopped on the ramp at which time Lathrop ran into the rear of Drozynski’s vehicle. Drozynski’s vehicle was then pushed into the rear of Mann’s vehicle.

Drozynski and Mann sustained minor injuries and were treated at the scene by West Shore EMS. Both Drozynski and Mann declined transport to the hospital. All vehicles required towing from the scene. Upper Allen Police were assisted at the scene by the Upper Allen Fire Department and West Shore EMS.

Police Investigate Theft of Electronic Equipment

On March 25, 2011 Upper Allen Township Police were called to Messiah College to investigate the reported theft of computer devices from a dorm room in the Miller Residence. The theft was to have occurred in the evening hours of March 24, 2011. The victim reported that a MacBook 2009 #73905RTH1AQ (similar to the one pictured above), a silver Apple iPod #8L742DBFY5N, a black iHome and a 17″ Hannspree computer monitor were stolen from the room. Used Car Dealer Victim of a Pickpocket at Local Auto Auction

On Thursday March 17, 2011 at approximately 3:15PM a used car dealer representative was the victim of a pick pocket thief. He was conducting business at the Harrisburg Auto Auction located in Upper Allen Township. An unidentified black male reached into the pants pocket of the victim and removed an envelope containing $7000.00 in cash in it. The robbery suspect then fled on foot out of the auction property.

Fatal Residential Fire Under Investigation

On March 17, 2011 at 5:20 PM Upper Allen Police responded to a residential fire with entrapment in the 300 block of Mt Allen Drive. When officers arrived on scene, the residence was fully engulfed by fire and smoke. Officers entered the house, but were forced out by smoke and fire prior to locating anyone inside. A single deceased victim was later located inside by Fire Department personnel after flames were extinguished enough for entry. The identity of the victim will be released when positive identification has been made by the Cumberland County Coroner’s Office. Edwin Osman, 69, of the same address was transported to Harrisburg Hospital for evaluation by EMS personnel. Upper Allen Fire Department was assisted at the scene by the following fire departments: Washington, Lower Allen, Citizens, New Kingston, Monroe, Dillsburg, Monaghan, New Cumberland Army Depot and East Pennsboro as well as West Shore EMS and Lower Allen EMS.. The investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing.

Police Seek Identity of Retail Theft Suspects

On March 4, 2011 the Upper Allen Police were notified of a retail theft that occurred at the Giant grocery store at 255 Cumberland Parkway. At approximately 8:30 PM the same date, a white male and white female entered the store and stole food items totaling $49.61. The couple exited the Cumberland Parkway Plaza in what appeared to be a dark colored Pontiac Grand Am. Surveillance photos of the male and female are shown above.
