In December of 2023 Upper Allen Police received a report of inappropriate physical contact between an adult and a minor. An investigation followed and Chennakeseva Chakka was identified as the suspect. In March of 2024, charges were filed against Chakka. A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for a later date.

Palmyra Woman Arrested for Involvement in January Drive-by Shooting

On January 14, 2024, Upper Allen Police were dispatched to a shots fired call in the 1700 block of North Meadow Circle. (See related press release: https://upperallenpolice.com/wp/2024/01/14/drive-by-shooting-in-meadowview-development/) It was discovered that a residence had been shot multiple times from a moving vehicle. The residence was occupied by several individuals, including children, at the time of the shooting. No one was injured as a result of the shooting. An investigation ensued and Tyra Edwards was identified as an involved suspect. On April 1, 2024, Edwards was taken into custody in Dauphin County. Edwards was transported to the Cumberland County Prison and a preliminary hearing has been scheduled for a later date.

Mechanicsburg Man Injured in Single Vehicle Crash

The Upper Allen Police investigated a single vehicle crash on Monday, April 1, 2024 at 2:20 PM. A Chevrolet Tahoe left the roadway while traveling west in front of 91 Cumberland Parkway. The Chevrolet struck a drainage ditch and continued across the driveway before coming to rest in a grassy area to the east of Dominos Pizza. The male operator of the Chevrolet sustained minor injuries but refused medical treatment. The Chevrolet sustained disabling front end damage and needed to be towed from the scene.

Mechanicsburg Man Injured in Single Vehicle Crash

On Thursday, March 28, 2024 at 10:15 AM, Upper Allen Police were dispatched to the intersection of Cumberland Parkway and Gettysburg Pike for a single vehicle that had crashed into a utility pole. After speaking to individuals who witnessed the crash, it was determined that the operator failed to complete the left turn from Gettysburg Pike onto Cumberland Parkway. The vehicle then left the roadway and struck a utility pole which caused disabling damage to the vehicle. The driver of the vehicle sustained an injury and was transported to a local hospital for further evaluation.

Update: Police Seek Assistance in Identifying Vehicle

On Sunday, March 24, 2024, Upper Allen Police began investigating a hit and run crash in which a child was struck while riding their bicycle. A news release was posted here. An investigation has revealed a possible vehicle of interest, which is pictured above in two separate photographs.
