On Monday, September 16, 2024, at approximately 10:47 AM, Upper Allen Police were dispatched to a theft at a local restaurant. Following an investigation, police found that over the course of several months, Gabrielle Martin had been taking cash from deposit bags that were meant to be deposited in restaurant’s bank account. Martin was arrested on scene and transported to the Cumberland County Prison for processing and arraignment. A preliminary hearing will be held at a later date.

Overnight Thefts in the Bowmans Hill Neighborhood

On Friday, September 13, 2024, the Upper Allen Township Police Department investigated thefts in the Bowmans Hill neighborhood. During the overnight hours of September 11 and September 12, 2024, at least two vehicles were entered and various items were stolen. If you are a victim and you haven’t yet notified Upper Allen Police, please do so. The vehicles that were entered were unlocked.

The Upper Allen Police would like to remind residents to always:

  • lock your vehicle
  • take your keys or key fob with you
  • never leave wallets, purses, or other valuables in your vehicle.

In July 2020, Upper Allen Police began investigating an incident where the defendant, Donovan Jackson, was suspected of committing a theft. The investigation revealed that the victim accidentally left their property in the Jackson’s vehicle after carpooling. Upon return of the property, several hundreds of dollars had been stolen. It was determined that Jackson had committed the theft. A warrant was obtained for Jackson who went on the run and was featured on Upper Allen Police’s Most Wanted page for four years until he was ultimately captured.

On September 12, 2024, a preliminary hearing was held where Jackson plead guilty to a theft related offense.

Afternoon Crash Injures Two Women

On Sunday, September 8, 2024, around 2:15 PM, the Upper Allen Police were dispatched to a crash on US Route 15 North, near mile marker 39.1, with injuries. This was a three vehicle crash involving three drivers and an additional 5 occupants. All three vehicles had been traveling north on Route 15 when the white SUV, traveling in the right lane, entered the left lane and struck the white sedan. The white sedan then hit the jersey barrier before striking a blue SUV that had been traveling in the right lane, in front of the white SUV. Both the white SUV and the white sedan sustained disabling damage and were towed by AAA and Hess Garage respectively. The blue SUV sustained minor damage and was able to be driven from the scene. Both the driver and front seat passenger of the white sedan sustained injuries and were transport by EMS to Penn State Holy Spirit Hospital. Upper Allen Police were assisted on scene by EMS from Hampden and Lower Allen Townships as well as the Upper Allen Fire Department.

Evening Crash Injures Motorcyclist

On Sunday, September 8, 2024, around 6:15 PM, the Upper Allen Police were dispatched to a crash in the 400 block of West Lisburn Road. The crash involved two vehicles, a sedan with a female driver and a motorcycle with one male operator. The motorcyclist had been traveling east in the 400 block of West Lisburn Road and had slowed his speed to prepare for the traffic circle ahead. The sedan was traveling west at the location and had been attempting to make a left-hand turn into a driveway located on the South side of the road. The sedan operator had also slowed her vehicle and yielded to another car that had passed her traveling east. However, the operator of the sedan failed to yield for the motorcyclist and turned directly into his lane of travel. The motorcyclist sustained injuries that resulted in him being transported by Life Lion EMS to Penn State Holy Spirit Hospital. Upper Allen Police were also assisted on scene by the Upper Allen Fire Department.
