Upper Allen Police Participate in Shop with a Cop Event

On Saturday, December 13, 2025, the Upper Allen Police Department participated in Silver Spring Township’s 11th Annual “Shop With a Cop,” along with many other agencies in Cumberland County. The program pairs a child with an officer, who assists them in buying presents for their family.

This event is made possible by the generous donations of local sponsors and the assistance of numerous local agencies. The Department was grateful for the opportunity to interact with local residents and foster stronger community relationships.

Police Seek Owner of Found iPad

On Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at 12:35 PM, an iPad was turned over to the Upper Allen Police after it was found by employees of a local coffee shop.

Upper Allen Man Arrested for Interfering with Custody of Children

In July 2025, the Upper Allen Township Police Department received a report concerning an adult male who had approached two young children, ages 10 and 11, at a local park. The suspect offered to purchase snacks for the children at a nearby gas station. The children agreed to walk with the individual to the gas station, though their parents were unaware of the situation or the children’s departure from the park. The children returned approximately 45 minutes later. The investigation identified the suspect as Joshua Chilcote, who was subsequently arrested. On December 4, 2025, Chilcote appeared for his preliminary hearing and pleaded guilty to a lesser offense.

Police Seek Assistance Identifying Hit-and-Run Driver

On Wednesday, December 3, 2025, the Upper Allen Police received a report of a hit-and-run crash that occurred at the intersection of West Lisburn Road and Gettysburg Pike. The victim stated the crash occurred at approximately 5:30 PM as she entered the left turn lane on eastbound West Lisburn Road, intending to turn left onto northbound Gettysburg Pike.

The victim stated that as she entered the lane, she felt a hard impact on the passenger side rear corner of her gray Kia Seltos and immediately realized that her vehicle had been struck. She completed the left turn and pulled to the side of the road on Gettysburg Pike to exchange information with the other driver, who failed to stop. The victim’s vehicle was disabled as a result of the crash. The victim never saw the striking vehicle, so a description is not available.

The Upper Allen Police are seeking assistance from any motorists who may have witnessed the crash that can provide additional information to identify the fleeing vehicle.
