Upper Allen Police Help Install Child Safety Seats

June 13, 2015
Public Safety Day

On Saturday June 13, 2015 the Upper Allen Township Police Department participated in the Public Safety Day coordinated by the Upper Allen Fire Department, The Citizens Fire and Rescue Company, and the Washington Fire Company. This was their 4th annual event and it was held in the parking lot of 1225 South Market Street owned by the Hampshire Companies located in Upper Allen Township.

Our role during this 4th annual Public Safety Day was to help the public make sure their child safety seats were installed correctly or to assist vehicle owners to properly install the child safety seats. It is imperative the vehicle owners participate with these installations so they understand how to install them correctly themselves and they learn the latest recommendations for child passenger restraints.

The Upper Allen Township Police Department has Officers trained as Child Passenger Safety Seat Technicians. Their role as trained technicians is to assist and educate the public in the proper installation of child passenger restraint systems, explain the issues with aftermarket products, and to help look for recalls on the Child Safety Seats.

This is a service the Upper Allen Township Police Department provides to the public and those interested are encouraged to call and make an appointment with one of the trained Officers on staff.
