On Thursday, July 14, 2022, at 9:50 PM the Upper Allen Police responded to a single-vehicle crash at the intersection of Arcona Road and East Winding Hill Road. The investigation revealed that the 2019 Volkswagen Jetta operator was driving the vehicle too fast and subsequently failed to see the properly posted stop sign at the intersection. The Volkswagen crossed East Winding Hill Road and struck an embankment, which caused the vehicle to become airborne for a short distance before striking a tree, causing severe damage to the vehicle. Neither the male driver nor the female front seat passenger reported any injuries and both refused EMS at the scene. A male juvenile rear-seat passenger, who was not wearing a seat belt, sustained injuries and was transported to an area hospital by Penn State Health Life Lion EMS for treatment.
