On May 25, 2011 between 7:30 PM and 11:45 PM someone threw a large rock at speed advisory trailer destroying the display. The unit was located on Diehl Road between South York Street and Williams Grove Road when the damage occurred. A similar incident occurred the day before in which a rock was thrown at the display, however the unit remained operable.
The display trailer is owned by PADOT and is used by police in various locations where speeding is a concern. The display alerts drivers to the actual speed their car is traveling so they can adjust accordingly.
