Upper Allen Police Hand Out Candy on Halloween

On Thursday October 29, 2015 the Upper Allen Township Police were out with an extra compliment of Officers to ensure the observed Trick or Treat night went smoothly. There were Police Officer’s on Bicycles and in Patrol cars.

Keeping up with the Department’s tradition the Officer’s were handing out candy to the young Trick or Treater’s. This tradition spans over 20 years of handing out candy on this fun night for the children in our community. The Upper Allen Township Police feel very strongly about interacting with our community in a positive manner. With this tradition we are able to engage with the youth of our Community and offer maximum visibility to help deter crime.

Daytime Burglary of Electronics and Cash

On October 28, 2015 at 1700 hours, the Upper Allen Police responded to the 100 Block of Melbourne Lane for the daytime burglary of a residence in which gaming systems, controllers, games and cash were taken. One of the gaming systems was an XBOX ONE LE with serial number 034649233848 and sensor serial number 034160733847.

Upper Allen Police Warn Residents of Prowler and Attempted Burglary Incidents

On October 27, 2015 at approximately 10:30 PM, Upper Allen Township Police were dispatched to a residence in the 1000 block of Lancaster Boulevard where a victim reported that an individual attempted to gain entry to an exterior patio. The suspect was witnessed fleeing the scene and was described as a young African-American male with a thin build and approximately 6’4″ tall. The suspect was wearing a dark colored hooded sweatshirt and dark pants and was last seen running towards Nanroc Drive.

The description of this suspect is similar to the description of an individual who attempted to burglarize residences in August and September of this year. All of these incidents have taken place in the same general area within Upper Allen Township and may also be related to similar prowler incidents which have been occurring in both Upper Allen and Lower Allen Townships. Upper Allen Police reminds all residents to be aware of their surroundings at all times and to be sure to keep all vehicles and residences locked and secured. If any suspicious persons or activities are observed, 911 should be contacted immediately.

Multiple Thefts from Vehicles in Melbourne Place

During the overnight hours, from October 25th into the 26th, several vehicles in the Melbourne Place development off Allendale Road were entered. The vehicles the suspects entered were unlocked. The items taken included wallets, cell phones, debit cards and sunglasses. Police remind residents to lock their car doors and take valuables inside their residence when the vehicle is unattended.

Investigators Attempting to Identify Suspects

On October 15, 2015 a theft of baby formula was reported from the Weis Market on Bumble Bee Hollow Road in Upper Allen Township. The pictured subjects are persons of interest from another incident involving a theft of similar products that occurred at a local Weis Market earlier in the month on October 2, 2015. Investigating officers believe the subjects pictured were possibly involved in both incidents. The subjects were last observed leaving the Bumble Bee Hollow store in a black Dodge Caliber containing the last four numeric of 0957.
