Mechanicsburg Man Arrested for DUI and Drug Offenses

On Saturday, October 7, 2023, at approximately 2:46 AM, the Upper Allen Police encountered David Swords near the intersection of South Market Street and Cedar Avenue. During the encounter, Police determined that Swords was driving under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance. Additionally, Swords was found to be in possession of marijuana and associated drug paraphernalia. Swords was arrested on scene and transported to Cumberland County Booking for processing.

A preliminary hearing was scheduled for Friday, January 5, 2023. Swords elected to waive his right to a preliminary hearing.

Drive-By Shooting in Meadowview Development

Upper Allen Police responded to a reported drive-by shooting at a house in the 1700 block of North Meadow Circle around 3:10 am today, January 14, 2024. Multiple rounds were fired from a vehicle, though preliminary investigations indicate no injuries. While the incident remains under investigation, police believe this was not a random act and have no reason to think there is a threat to the general public. Harrisburg Man Arrested for Conspiracy to Commit Access Device Fraud

On Thursday, November 16, 2023, at approximately 9:35 AM, the Upper Allen Police were contacted by a citizen of the Township regarding the fraudulent use of their credit card and other personal information. The victim informed police that not only had their credit card information been used to purchase several items without their consent, several days after the purchases were made, an individual (later determined to be Marlon Holmes) showed up to the victim’s residence looking to retrieve the fraudulently purchased items.

The investigation determined that Marlon Holmes was involved in a conspiracy to defraud the victim. Police obtained an arrest warrant and on Thursday, January 4, 2024, Holmes turned himself in to authorities. A preliminary hearing will be held a later date.

Upper Allen Woman Arrested for Fleeing DUI Crash

Fleeing the scene of a crash involving injury
Driving without a license

On January 7, 2024, Upper Allen Police were dispatched to the intersection of Wilson Road and Ridge Drive for a two vehicle crash with injuries. When Upper Allen Police arrived, it was discovered that one of the operators, Ana Herrera-Montalvo, fled the scene on foot. The operator of the other vehicle sustained injuries and was taken by EMS to Penn State Holy Spirit Hospital. Officers were able to quickly locate Herrera-Montalvo at her residence. Herrera-Montalvo was arrested for DUI, leaving the scene of an accident involving injury, and driving without a license. She was transported to Cumberland County Central Booking for processing. A preliminary hearing will be scheduled at a later date. Upper Allen Police were assisted on scene by Upper Allen Fire Department and Penn State Life Lion EMS.

Maryland Man Arrested for Drug Charges

On January 6, 2024, at approximately 2:48 PM, Upper Allen Police were dispatched to a single vehicle crash on US Route 15 North near South Market Street. Police responded to the scene and found that Ayomide Fatai lost control of his vehicle while driving and became stuck. During the investigation, it was discovered that Fatai was in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Fatai was arrested on scene and transported to Cumberland County Central Booking for processing. A preliminary hearing will be held at a later date.
