Pedestrian Struck While Delivering Newspapers

On Tuesday, October 13 at 3:55 AM, police were dispatched to the 900 block of E Lisburn Rd. for a pedestrian that was struck. Yinger was operating her vehicle eastbound on E Lisburn Rd. and was delivering newspapers. She parked her vehicle in the oncoming traffic lane and exited the vehicle to pick up a newspaper that was along the roadway. David Draisey was operating his vehicle westbound on E Lisburn Rd. as he approached Yinger’s location. Draisey crested a small hill in the roadway and observed Yinger’s vehicle parked in his lane of travel. Draisey applied his brakes but wasn’t able to stop in time before he struck Yinger’s vehicle. Yinger was standing next to the vehicle when it was struck, and was thrown from the initial impact area. Yinger reported injury and was transported from the scene by EMS personnel. Upper Allen Police were assisted on scene by the Upper Allen Fire Department and Holy Spirit EMS.

Red Hyundai Sought in Hit and Run Crash

On Tuesday October 6, 2015 at approximately 4:15 PM, Upper Allen Police responded to a hit and run crash in the 1400 block of South York Street. The striking vehicle, a red Hyundai, was driving south on South York Street and struck two road signs and a wooden fence on the west side of the roadway. The red Hyundai left the scene of the crash. The red Hyundai has damage to the front passenger side and is missing the passenger side head light and mirror. Window Broken During Theft From Vehicle

On Tuesday, October 6th, 2015 the Upper Allen Police responded to the 400 block of Orchard Lane for an overnight vehicle break-in. The victim left her purse in her vehicle, which was secured. The suspect then broke her window to access her purse. Numerous items were stolen during the theft. Upper Allen Police Participate in the Wildcat Foundation Community Day

On Saturday October 3, 2015 the Upper Allen Police participated in the Wildcat Foundation’s Community Day which was held indoors at the Mechanicsburg Middle School. Officer’s had an informational table where they handed out Halloween Safety items, bicycle safety books, and other fun items for children. Police Department magnets with critical phone numbers for quick access were also available for residents to pick up.

Unknown Vehicle Causes Crash on Route 15

Sapinkopf was traveling in the northbound lane on US Route 15 in the area of the on ramp from South Market Street. Sapinkopf reported that he abruptly cut off by a white SUV causing Sapinkopf’s vehicle to hit an embankment. This resulted in disabling damage to Sapinkopf’s vehicle which was towed from the scene. Sapinkopf was treated for minor injuries at the scene. Upper Allen Police were assisted by Upper Allen Fire and Holy Spirit EMS.
