Tools Stolen From Construction Site

On June 16, 2014 Upper Allen Police received the report of the theft of numerous construction tools and equipment from job trailers in the 800 Block of Tolman Street, in the Orchard Glen Development off of East Winding Hill Road. The theft is believed to have occurred over the weekend of June 13-15. Among the tools taken were a Predator generator, Bosch hammer drill, Milwaukee electric drill, Dewalt saw, drill and grinder, Dewalt shop vac and a Hardwood power nailer.

Motorcycle Crash Injures the Operator

At 1:15 PM on Sunday June 15, 2014 Huffnagle was traveling west on South Market Street and was negotiating a turn onto the on-ramp to Route 15 North. Huffnagle was traveling too fast and lost control of the motorcycle in gravel on road, causing it to slide onto its side, coming to a stop a short distance later. Huffnagle had minor injuries and was not transported to the hospital. Upper Allen Police were assisted on the scene by the Upper Allen Fire Department and West Shore EMS.

On June 15, 2014 at approximately 10:45 AM, the Upper Allen Township Police received a report of a black bear in the 1st block of the Winding Hill Drive. Similar black bear sightings have been reported in the area Cumberland Parkway and Gettysburg Pike within the last 24 hours. There have been no reports of the bear being hostile or aggressive towards any person at this time.

Residents are asked to move trash containers and bird feeders inside, so as not to attract bears. If a bear is seen, do not approach the bear or attempt to confine the bear in any way. The Upper Allen Police Department is working cooperatively with the PA Game Commission and residents are asked to call the Upper Allen Police Department at 717-238-9676 regarding any additional sightings.

Residential Daytime Burglary Results In Loss Of Jewelry And Electronics

On June 10, 2014 between the hours of 6:15 AM and 3:00 PM, a residence in the 300 block of Cascade Road was burglarized. The suspect entered the residence by breaking a window. Jewelry along with an iPod Nano were stolen from the residence. The suspect may have utilized a bicycle for transportation to and from the scene, and it is possible the suspect came from the area of Mt Allen Drive.

Assistance Requested in Identifying Hit and Run Vehicle

Upper Allen Police are investigating a hit and run crash that occurred at the intersection of Grantham Road and Gettysburg Pike at approximately 2:20 AM on June 7. An unknown color 2006 Chevrolet Tahoe or Suburban failed to make a turn at the intersection and struck a sign post. The vehicle came to rest at the top of an embankment after striking several small trees. The vehicle fled the scene. The vehicle likely has moderate front end damage and will also be missing the driver side-view mirror.
