Assistance Requested in Identifying Hit and Run Vehicle

Upper Allen Police are investigating a hit and run crash that occurred at the intersection of Grantham Road and Gettysburg Pike at approximately 2:20 AM on June 7. An unknown color 2006 Chevrolet Tahoe or Suburban failed to make a turn at the intersection and struck a sign post. The vehicle came to rest at the top of an embankment after striking several small trees. The vehicle fled the scene. The vehicle likely has moderate front end damage and will also be missing the driver side-view mirror. Three Vehicle Crash Slows Morning Commute

Boyle was traveling southbound on S. Market Street in the area of Aspen Drive when she did not see McKinley who was waiting to turn left onto Aspen Drive. Boyle’s Jeep stuck the rear of McKinley’s Toyota sedan and pushed her vehicle into the path of Kitner who was operating a Ford F-350 and traveling northbound on S. Market Street. Traffic was re-routed temporarily until the vehicles could be removed from the roadway. There was only one minor injury in the crash. The cause of the auto accident is related to a driver being distracted while using a cell phone. Upper Allen Police were assisted on the scene by the Upper Allen Fire Department and West Shore EMS.

Testing Scheduled for Position of Police Officer

The Upper Allen Police Department has joined with the Cumberland County Police Testing Consortium, a cooperative testing opportunity for those interested in a law enforcement career. This single testing process allows individuals to apply and test one time for any or all of the participating police agencies. There is only one application fee associated with this test. Power Tools Stolen From Barn

On May 27 2014, Upper Allen Police investigated a burglary that occurred in the 200 block of East Lisburn Road in Upper Allen Township. The burglary likely occurred between November of 2013 and March of 2014. There were two items stolen from the property. The first is a Stihl BG-65 Blower with serial number 273206840 and the second is a Stihl MS-170 Chainsaw with serial number 275157962. These items have a combined value of approximately $400 and are pictured above. Anyone with information relating to this burglary are encouraged to call the Upper Allen Police at 717-238-9676.
