Afternoon Crash Sends Driver to the Hospital

On September 27, 2012 at 3:18 PM, Upper Allen Police were summoned to a crash at the intersection of West Lisburn Road and US Route 15. An investigation determined that Daisy Anderson was traveling west on West Lisburn Road when she turned left and crossed traffic to enter the US Route 15 south on-ramp. Anderson did not see Richard Clouser who was traveling east on West Lisburn Road. Clouser struck the rear of Anderson’s vehicle causing damage to both vehicles. Clouser was injured in the crash and was transported to the hospital for evaluation and treatment. Upper Allen Police were assisted on the scene by Hampden Township EMS.

Construction Equipment Vandalized

On Tuesday, September 25, 2012 the Upper Allen Police investigated criminal mischief to the Caterpillar bulldozer pictured above. This occurred in the 1700 block of North Meadow Drive. Rocks thrown through the windows caused an estimated $8000 in damages and occurred between Saturday evening September 22nd, and Monday morning September 25th.

Early Evening Burglary

On September 25, 2012 Upper Allen Police received the report of a burglary in the 1000 block of East Lisburn Road, Mechanicsburg. The resident reported that the incident occurred between 3PM and 9PM on September 22nd. Taken in the burglary was a 40″ Sony flat screen TV, a 16″ Stihl chainsaw and a Porter Cable single tank air compressor.

Pedestrian Injured After Being Struck by a Mini-Bike

On September 22 at 6:18 PM, Upper Allen Police were dispatched to the 600 block of Cumberland Pointe CR for a pedestrian that was struck by a small motorcycle. The vehicle was a “Razor” electric mini-bike operated by a juvenile male that lived in the neighborhood. The pedestrian that was struck is also a neighborhood juvenile who had been playing in the parking lot. The mini-bike struck the pedestrian sending him into the air and upon landing on the ground he sustained an injury to his left leg. The operator of the mini-bike was not injured in the crash and it was determined the crash was accidental in nature.

This particular style mini-bike is considered a “motor vehicle” and is not to be driven on a highway unless registered according to Penn Dot regulations.

Upper Allen Police were assisted on scene by the West Shore EMS.

Burglary in Meadowview Reported

On September 18, 2012 Upper Allen Police received the report of a burglary in the 1700 block of North Meadow Drive, Mechanicsburg. The resident reported that the incident occurred between the evening hours of September 17 and the afternoon of September 18. An antique wooden chest was stolen that is valued at approximately $350.
