Police Investigate Animal Cruelty Incident

On February 17, 2011 Upper Allen Police received a report of the intentional shooting of a family pet near the 1st block of Nittany Drive. “Rockey” a 3 year old Maine Coon Cat was shot with a .177 caliber pellet sometime between 8:00 AM and 10:00 AM on February 17th. The pellet penetrated the cats neck and lodged near his spine. Rockey’s family was alerted to the shooting when the cat returned home and began howling in pain. Veterinary costs to the family are expected to exceed $1000.00. Daytime Burglary Investigated

On February 15, 2012 Upper Allen Police were called to a residence in the 600 block of Wayne Drive for a report of a burglary. The home was unoccupied at the time of the burglary and the homeowners believe that it occurred between 11:00 AM and 2:30 PM on 2/15/2012. On Tuesday, February 7, 2012 at approximately 11:00 PM, the Upper Allen Police investigated a theft from a car located at Shari’s Berries in the 1200 block of South Market Street. An employee found that a cellular phone charger, a gray Sony NAV-U GPS unit (Model: NV-U73T//Q; Serial Number: 2724272852), a silver 32 GB iPod Touch (3rd Generation Serial Number: 1A949BD76K2) and her Wells Fargo banking card had been stolen from her vehicle.

Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying this person of interest captured in store video surveillance shortly after the incident.

Driver Injured in Early Morning Crash

On February 9, 2012 at 6:51 AM, Upper Allen Police responded to a single vehicle crash on US Route 15 North at mile post 38.0. An investigation determined that the vehicle’s operator, Ashley McDonald, was traveling north in the left lane when she lost control of her vehicle. McDonald’s vehicle spun 180 degrees and struck a PennDOT sign before traveling down a slight embankment. McDonald reported minor injuries but refused Emergency Medical Services on scene.
