Three Car Crash Slows Rush Hour Traffic

On November 25, 2014 at 3:10 PM, Upper Allen Police responded to US Route 15 South on-ramp from South Market Street for the report of a three vehicle crash. All three vehicles were attempting to merge onto the highway from the on-ramp. Reinhart was first in line and came to a stop due to traffic in the right lane. Martino drove into the rear of Reinhart’s vehicle. Ross was following Martino and was unable to stop before driving into Martino. Martino’s car then continued up an embankment on the right before coming to rest alongside Reinhart. All three vehicles needed to be towed from the scene. Ross was treated on the scene by EMS for a minor injury and Martino was transported to the hospital for unknown injuries. Although crash was off the primary lanes of travel, traffic was slowed for an extended period by onlookers. Upper Allen Police were assisted on the scene by West Shore EMS and Upper Allen Fire Police.

Portable Centurion Generator Stolen from Shed

On 11/25/14 a resident in the 900 block of Sheffield Avenue, Upper Allen Township, reported a theft to police. Between Sunday, November 23 and Tuesday, November 25, someone entered a shed in the back yard of the residence and stole a Centurion 3250 watt generator (Model 005790-0) and three (3) red five gallon gas containers. The owner believes the generator is red in color, however the model is similar to one pictured above. An invesigation at the scene indicates that the generator may have been loaded into a vehicle that was pulled over along W. Lisburn Road between Emily Drive and Stumpstown Road. The weight of the generator may have require two people to lift it.

Crash Results in Minor Injury to Driver and Passenger

On November 19, 2014 at 3:15 PM, Upper Allen Police responded to the intersection of West Winding Hill Road and South York Street to investigate a reported crash. An investigation at the scene determined that both vehicles were stopped at the same stop sign before the collision. An SUV operated by Stadler pulled towards the intersection, but stopped again due to not having clearance to proceed. A school bus being operated by Hess proceeded as well, but could not stop in time resulting in a rear end collision with Stadler’s vehicle. Stadler and her adult passenger sustained minor injuries. No one aboard the school bus was injured. Both vehicles were driven from the scene of the crash. Upper Allen Police were assisted by Camp Hill EMS.

On November 19, 2014 at 5:24 PM the Upper Allen Police responded to the intersection of West Lisburn Road and Gettysburg Pike to investigate a reported crash. An investigation determined that a vehicle operated by Leinaweaver was traveling on West Lisburn Road and turned left in front of a vehicle operated by Franklin causing the collision. Both vehicles had to be towed from the scene. One driver suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene. Upper Allen Police were assisted by West Shore EMS.

Attempted Burglary to Environmental Center

During the overnight or early morning hours of November 15-16, 2014 someone attempted to enter a building on the grounds of the Trails and Trees Environmental Center, located on Eberly Lane. It does not appear that entry was gained and no property is missing from the location. There was heavy damage done to the rear door of the building.
