On October 2, 2014, Upper Allen Police were notified about suspicious activity that happened on October 1, 2014 at approximately 2:35 PM. A resident reported that the truck pictured below was stopped on Nursery Drive South just off Orchard Boulevard in the Winding Hills Development. The driver of the truck appeared to be taking photos from the truck which was stopped in the vicinity of a school bus stop in the same area. The driver is described as possibly Hispanic or a light skinned black male. The truck is tan or gold in color with a cap and vertical door on the rear. It is believed the truck displayed a “BU” number on the side, which is commonly associated with lawn fertilization or pest control companies.

There was no crime committed by the vehicle or driver. Police are simply seeking to identify the driver to obtain more information.

10/14/2014 Update: This vehicle and operator have been identified. There is no danger to the public and the vehicle and operator were not involved in any criminal activity.

On the morning of September 30, 2014 the Upper Allen Township received a report of a theft of a lawn statue from a residence in the 900 block of Macoun Drive. The concrete statue is in the image of Buddha and is 22 inches tall, weighs approximately 150 pounds, and has a bronze color finish. The theft occurred sometime between 6:30 PM on Sept. 29, 2014 and 7:30 AM on Sept. 30, 2014. The statue is similar to the one pictured above. The items were recovered and the case was determined not to be a theft as originally reported.

On September 24, 2014, Upper Allen Police received the reported theft of a Dell Latitude E5410 with a serial number SIS-HM931N1LT and an iPad 2 (64GB). The theft occurred in the 400 block of Spring Run Drive. This incident took place between Monday, September 22 and Tuesday, September 24, 2014. On Saturday, September 20, at 8:40 PM Upper Allen Police were dispatched to an injury crash at the intersection of W. Lisburn Road and Cope Drive South. An investigation revealed that Fahnestock took a left turn too sharp and hopped the curb before driving through a white vinyl rail fence. The involved Honda CR-V sustained severe damage and was towed from the scene by Zimmerman’s Automotive. Fahnestock was transported to Harrisburg Hospital for evaluation.

Upper Allen Police were assisted on the scene by West Shore EMS, Upper Allen Fire Department, and Upper Allen Fire Police.
