Information on Annual Public Safety Golf Tournament

Golfers – Unfortunately due to the steady increase in the Police Department workload there will not be a joint Police & Fire Department, Upper Allen Public Safety Golf Tournament in 2013. We would like to thank all the participants and supporters for their contributions in seven successful Golf Tournaments over the past seven years. Check the Upper Allen Fire Department website for information on their Golf Tournament planned for September 27, 2013.

We do look forward to co-hosting this worthwhile event again in the future.

Upper Allen Police Modernize Tip Reporting

The Upper Allen Police Department is pleased to announce several new methods for submitting tips about criminal activity. A new telephone tip line number has the ability to accept text messages in addition to the voice messages accepted previously. Additionally, tips can now also be submitted via the department’s website at: http://www.upperallenpolice.com. The new tip methods provide automated notification to criminal investigators within the department. The previously published anonymous tip line number is currently still operational, however it is limited to voice mail messages only and is not automated.

Many times citizens may have valuable information regarding crimes and the information can assist police in maintaining a safer community. The Upper Allen Police Department is encouraging citizens to take advantage of the new and improved system for providing important information.

On March 24, 2013 Upper Allen Police requested the public to help locate a missing juvenile (click here for original release). On March 26, 2013 at approximately 11:30 PM, Upper Allen Police located Leah McCartney in Dillsburg and she is now safe. The Upper Allen Police would like to thank those who assisted in helping to locate this missing juvenile.

On March 23, 2013 at 4:00 p.m., Upper Allen Police received a report that McCartney had fled her residence in the 400 block of Berkshire Road. McCartney was last seen wearing black stretch pants, black shoes and carrying a green bag/backpack. Police are attempting to locate McCartney and are asking the public for assistance. McCartney has similar hair as pictured but is believed to have one side of her head shaved to a buzz cut. Shed Burglarized on Diehl Road

On Sunday, March 17, 2013 a shed in the 400 block of Diehl Road, Upper Allen Township, was found with the lock cut off and items missing from inside the shed. Unknown persons cut the lock, entered the shed and stole a Skilsaw circular saw, ten roof jacks and a fiberglass hunting bow. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call Upper Allen Police at 717-238-9676 or the anonymous tip line at 717-591-3790.
