On Sunday, February 25, 2024, at approximately 12:15 AM, the Upper Allen Police responded to US Route 15 northbound near the PA Turnpike for the report of a hit-and-run crash. The investigation revealed that an unknown vehicle rear-ended the above pictured vehicle, which was traveling north in the right-most lane of US Route 15. The striking vehicle fled the scene, and the victim was unable to provide a description. Evidence at the scene indicates the striking vehicle may be a large SUV or truck. The striking vehicle will likely have moderate damage to the right-front side of the vehicle and possibly the left front corner as well.

Police are seeking assistance in identifying the striking vehicle and the driver. The Upper Allen Township Police Department can be reached at 717-795-2445. On the morning of Saturday, February 24, 2024, Upper Allen Police received information that Ruthann Freeland was yet again violating an active Protection From Abuse Order. Police responded to the protected party’s residence and found Freeland still on scene. Freeland was arrested and transported to the Cumberland County Booking Center for process and arraignment. A hearing is currently scheduled for February 27, 2024.

On Monday, February 19, 2024 Upper Allen Police received information that Ruthann Freeland had again violated a Protection From Abuse Order. An investigation determined that Freeland had repeatedly contacted the protected party in violation of the PFA. Freeland was taken into custody later that evening. A hearing has been scheduled for February 27, 2024.
